You might be wondering what the differences between skipjack tuna vs. albacore tuna are. As well all know, skipjack tuna and albacore tuna are often used as canned tuna. 1.      Canned tuna type

For the canned tuna that using skipjack tuna as the ingredient, usually water is used as the liquid to preserve the quality of the meat. Meanwhile for the canned tuna that using albacore tuna as the ingredient, usually oil is used as the liquid to preserve the quality of the meat. That is why this white canned tuna contains type more fat than light canned tuna type.
2.      Color of the meat
Another difference between skipjack tuna vs. albacore tuna is the color of the meat that they have. For the skipjack tuna, the color of the meat is dark red with tan shade. Meanwhile for the albacore tuna, the color of the meat is white with pinkish shade. This is the reason why canned tuna which made using albacore tuna is named as white canned tuna. Furthermore the white color that albacore tuna has, is also considered as suitable meat color for canned tuna.
3.      Flavor and texture of the meat
Next difference between skipjack tuna vs. albacore tuna is the flavor of the meat that they have. For the skipjack tuna, the flavor of the meat is stronger and the texture of the meat is soft which will really reminds you with the flavor and texture of chicken thigh meat. Meanwhile for the albacore tuna, the flavor of the meat is milder and the texture of the meat is firm which will really reminds you with the flavor and texture of chicken breast meat. But because people does not really like the strong flavor that skipjack tuna have, then people choose milder flavor that albacore tuna have. Furthermore albacore tuna meat has less fishy flavor, this is why factories like to use albacore tuna as canned tuna.

Among all nutrition that the tuna fish have, the omega 3 is nutrition that everyone searches the most. That is because omega 3 is a good nutrition for your brain, development and growth; this is why it is a good thing to consume it.
